What Are The Different Types Of Showerheads Based On Installation?

Do you want to upgrade the look and functionality of your bathroom? Upgrading the showerhead is one way to get the desired result. But before you do a renovation, you should have a clear idea about the type of showerheads and how you can effectively use them in your bathroom.

Wall-mounted showerhead

This is a fixed shower head that is mounted onto the wall. This is the most popular type of showerhead found in most bathrooms. The showerhead will be small in size, typically 5 inches or less. If you want a simple showerhead with enough water pressure, the wall-mounted fixed showerhead is the best choice.

The wall mounted shower head also comes with a multi-functional feature where you can change the spray pattern. A multi-functional fixed shower head is the right option if you want a fancier shower head.

Ceiling-mounted showerhead

These are showerheads that are directly mounted onto the ceiling of the bathroom. These showerheads can either be recessed or hanging. In the case of a recessed showerhead, the showerhead will be flushed against the ceiling. A hanging showerhead will have single or multiple shower arms that attach the showerhead to the ceiling.

Hand-held showerhead

As the name implies, handheld shower heads are showerheads that you can hold in your hand. It is more versatile and hence is a popular option for your bathroom. The showerhead comes with a holder for holding the showerhead and a detachable hose through which water flows.

The main advantage of the hand-held shower head is its versatility. You can either use it as a fixed shower or hold it in your hand while taking a shower. You can easily wash hard to reach areas of your body using a handheld shower. A handheld showerhead is a great option for bathing kids and babies.

Dual showerhead

A dual showerhead is one where the fixed and handheld showerhead are joined together. You also get a combination of a fixed showerhead and rain showerhead. Thus, depending on your requirement, you can decide on the type of dual showerhead to opt for.

The advantage of a dual showerhead is that you can use both the showerheads simultaneously. However, the water pressure may not be optimum if you use both the showerheads at the same time.

What Are The Different Types Of Showerheads Based On Water Fall Option?

Rainfall showerhead

These are showerheads where the water trickles down like raindrops. Depending on your choice, you can install this type of showerhead on the wall or ceiling. The main advantage of a rainfall showerhead is that it provides a relaxing effect. But if you want to take a quick shower, rainfall is not a great option as the spraying pressure can be mild compared to a normal showerhead.

Waterfall showerhead

In this type of showerhead, water flows down with a gush, just like in a waterfall. Thus, you get drenched fast in a waterfall showerhead. The main drawback of a waterfall showerhead is the high water consumption. Thus, it may not be a great option in areas with a low water supply.

Mist showerhead

In the case of a mist showerhead, streams of water are atomised into tiny droplets. This covers a much larger surface area and helps you get drenched fast. The main advantage of a mist showerhead is that it helps in conserving water.

The type of showerhead to go for is purely a personal choice. If you are looking for a traditional shower heads, a wallmounted fixed showerhead is the choice. But on the other hand, if you want a more glamorous showerhead then a recessed one with LED lights is the perfect option.
